For multinational companies, maintaining a consistent and efficient Month-End Close (MEC) process across various countries is crucial. However, differing country-specific MEC calendars and inconsistencies in the classification of critical versus non-critical tasks create significant challenges in aligning with the Global Operating Model (GOM). To address these issues, a proposal for standardizing the MEC process is recommended, ensuring all regions follow a  uniform timeline, leading to operational efficiency and faster financial reporting.
